“I promise that I won’t fall in love with the moody, mysterious, Ash Hanson.  I will enjoy his rangy body, his broad shoulders, and shapely leg, all the while knowing it’s a lease, not a buy.”

Oh Lila.  You were probably my favorite character.  Flamecaster was a good start to an intriguing fantasy series.  Now I have not read her prior series (The Seven Realms).  It is true that you don’t need to read it to understand anything happening in Flamecaster.  Chima has a fantastic writing style.  It’s not quite the incredibly long-winded super slow intricate gigantic web you see in most fantasy.  It had good pacing and moments of peace and action.  A nice mixture.  We also see a mix of POVs.  While we usually are following Ash or Jenna we also get a sprinkle of Lila and Destin as well. OH RHYSAND YOU HAVE WON MY HEART.  I had to reread my review of the first book and realized oh how wrong I was.  You are silky and dark and sexy and EVERYTHING I EVER WANT OR NEED.  Snarky, flirty, dangerous, sensual, playful.  ERMAGHERD THIS 600+ PAGE BOOK WAS NOT ENOUGH. Continue reading
