“Because of you, I’ve been truly alive. And now that I’ve lived, I can be ready to die for something I believe in and the person I love.”

I do love a good YA novel in space. They are few and far between. I like how it wasn’t just like aliens on Earth but actual travel to different planets, seeing different societies. I picked this one up on sale for my kindle and it is more than worth it. Continue reading

“Hope is a precious thing, isn’t it,” she says. “And yet, we don’t really appreciate it until it’s gone.”

I found myself really enjoying this novel. I was originally planning to read The Selection since my friend absolutely raves about it, but after reading some of the reviews I wasn’t inclined to read another love triangle. One of the reviewers suggested this novel as it’s along a similar thread, but a bit darker. So I figured why not, I already had this in my kindle library from a while back when it was on sale, and jumped in. Continue reading

“I am.”

I received an ARC of: Light (Dream Casters #1) via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

If this wasn’t a Netgalley ARC I honestly would have DNF’d this book after the first 20% or so. I struggled, not wanting to read more, to read something I liked instead and it just got worse and worse and worse. I put my kindle down more times than I can count. I would set goals for myself of just finishing a chapter to feel like I was getting through it. Continue reading

“Just one more lie she’d constructed for herself to escape into, never realizing she was welding the bars of her own cage.”

Well. I got some insight in Lavana that honestly I’m not sure I needed. Haha. She is definitely crazy. An interesting read though. To read how she justified her actions to herself. How deep her insanity was. Continue reading

Whatever between us, it’s real. I don’t need to have seen your face for that to be true.”

I picked this book up not really expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised. I wanted something fluffy, fun and a bit of a break from my norm as of late. Honestly I picked it up as a guilty pleasure to enjoy. I mean come on, being kidnapped by aliens and masquerading as an alien princess, hot aliens and people trying to assassinate our leading lady, what’s not to love? Continue reading

“My Gomorrah is a home. Their Gomorrah is a show.”

I enjoy when I don’t see the twist coming. With how much YA I’ve read, I feel like it takes a lot to surprise me. So when it does happen, I’m overjoyed. For the record, I’m not talking about the who the murderer is aspect but something totally else. Perhaps I was too focused on the mystery? Haha either way I love the unexpected. Continue reading

“Shame. That was an exquisite dress.”

Let me just say, there is a biiig chunk I just have to mark as spoilers. Keep that in mind before reading.

I received an ARC of: Shadow Run via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

In my humble opinion, this isn’t just “reminiscent” of Firefly, it honestly ripped portions of it with some tweaking. If you’ve seen Serenity, you’ve read the end of this book if I’m being honest. It has them overpowering an army with drones they cannot control and rip ships to shreds. Just way less creepy than reavers. Then crashing their ship into the citadel, followed by lots of people getting shot/sliced up until some political maneuvering wins them their freedom, but just for now. There needs to be more books you know. Continue reading
